Buster & Fila
From AlexBrownRacing
All grown up...

Fila is, we think, of the breed "Texas Blue Lacey", at least she fits the description, although as a smaller version of the breed...but there is no knowing for sure, as she was a stray. She was a 3-4 month old puppy, when she came to us. I came home from the barn, got out of my truck in the parking lot, and this little puppy flew off a rock wall and came running towards me, like she was sayig "where have you been? I have been waiting for you for so long. Why did you leave me??" I had never seen this puppy before, but she followed me and would never leave my side!! She looked horrible, full of fleas, she had almost no hair, scabs and flakey skin and full of wrinkles...she looked almost like a sharpei puppy in her face, disgustingly dirty ears and earmites...you name it. We let her stay on our patio the first night, but then I bathed her, put Advantage on her to get rid of the fleas, cleaned her ears and put in medication - and she could now come inside. She jumped straight up on top of the bed, like she actually LIVED with us! Strange thing... We put flyers out, tried to find her owners...but to be honest, even IF we would have found them, I would NOT have given Fila back to them...they obviously didn't take care of her the way they should have and definitely didn't deserve to have a sweet little puppy like this!!! So, of course we kept her!!! We took her to a vet and started the Mitaban dips for her Demodectic mites, got her vaccines and HW-prevention and all that. Her hair slowly grew back and Fila turned into a beautiful little lady with the best personality EVER!!! She LOVES EVERYBODY, humans, dogs, cats...she is very submissiv to other dogs and wouldn't dare fight or be cocky with anyone...she just wants to be LOVED!!!
How could I have been so lucky to receive a wonderful gift like this one...I don't know, but she's the one who picked ME, and I am very humbled and grateful!!!
FILA IS THE BEST!!!
Buster was found sitting under an 18-wheeler in a parkinglot next to a busy highway...he was scared, lonely and crying his little heart out. He was about 8 weeks old, when we found him, and the CUTEST thing ever! We took him home and introduced him to our other puppy Fila. They bonded immideately and have been best friends ever since. Buster is a mix of "something or the other", but he does have some pitt bull in him, it is hard to miss. But only on the outside...he is super sweet, happy, funny, a bit of a crybaby, can't be left alone - always has to be with us :)
His favorite thing to do is play with the water hose, or rather, try to catch the water coming out of the hose! He can jump more than 5' in the air trying to get to that water, flip around midair and rebound and catch it again. He is very funny to watch!! Filling up the water buckets in the barn is always a challenge, as Buster will be bouncing up and down, trying to interfere :) Can't but laugh at him... And I remember when he was a puppy, he wasn't even able to jump up on the bed...he would sit there and CRY, until someone lifted him up :)
He also likes to run with the horses, while I ride (a bit annoying at times), and he can almost keep up with Mango (at least for a while) when we go out galloping! He has been with me riding so much, that sometimes I catch him running around in the arena, by himself (!), in circles and figure-eights, doing lead changes and stuff - like he was "riding" a dressage test of sorts - hilarious!
He is a love-bug for sure!!!
