COCO

And after she saw Rose & I
Story:
She was born and raised on a local farm and purchased 4 years ago by the person from whom we got her. He bought her as a riding horse for his son but the son felt that her trot was too choppy and was not comfortable riding her. So they decided to sell her and try to find something gaited for the son. Coco is 28 years young and is in excellent health. She is up to date on everything except fall shots and you would not guess her age to look at her.
Since no one came forward to purchase Coco it was decided that she would be taken to Eyler's auction on September 7th and they would take what they could get for her. This is when the FOBs stepped in and raised the funds to keep Coco from facing the trials of going through an auction with the possibility of being purchased by a broker and making the auction rounds for weeks or months. Every time she enters the auction ring she is risking a one way ticket to slaughter. Coco will never have to face that uncertain future due to the generosity of this great group of people.
This little girl is a well trained childs western pony and she is going to make someone very happy. I have a possible home for her and will let you know if that all works out.
UPDATES
9/06/07: The appy's ransom was paid for by the FOBS and the
NLER Yahoo Group. Thanks to all.
9/07/07: The appy mare was picked up this morning
around 10:00am by Cathy at NLER. Cathy said that she
is just lovely, absolutely as she was described and
in perfect health!! AND she may already have a home
for her!!
9/08/07: I am very happy to post that Coco, the aged appy
mare, will be staying with our family. We are
adopting her for my niece Michaela who has been
begging for a horse for at LEAST 4 years now. She
is 11 years old and takes lessons with my
Granddaughter but has dreamed of having a horse of
her own. Well now she has her and she and Coco get
along famously. They hit it off right from the
start.
9/14/07: Coco is just a living doll. My niece and grandkids
have been riding her bareback with just a halter and
she is wonderful. So very well behaved and tolerant
of kids who are still learning. Thank you so much
for helping this sweet old girl. Gotta' love the
golden oldies.
9/30/07: Coco has been doing some small trail rides this
past week and oh my what a girl. She is the
perfect kids pony and my niece just adores her.
She may be 28 but you truly would not know that
if you met her. She is happy and healthy and a
true love.
