Horse experience
When i was young and growing up in Coney Island, Brooklyn NY, there was only trees not a horse to be seen. We had to travel to upstate NY, Beautiful Lake George and attend camp. There was lots to do including riding horses. The smell always sent my nose upward and my hand to my mouth to catch my stomach contents that wanted to play show and tell. Any, the time riding was wonderful. Power and elgance of this wonderful animal has always spellbounded me. There was one time ( sure in band camp) that one of the horses threw the guide (Randy was his name) omg what a site to see this horse up on his back legs and his front legs reaching for the stars. Randy, i dont know how he was able to hold on but he did, however he had many scratches on his face. My poor sister refused to get on the horse, but i decided to give it another try and ride. ohh what a ride to be able to feel the wind in your hair.. Simply the best :-)
FOB Network
Other FOBs you have developed a network with through your activities. I have made alot of friends, Lynda, Ro, Wendy, Jen, Jan, Jenny, Sarah and Amy and so many others that i am not able to list here but you guys know who you are, ohh i cant forget Deb and of course Siegy the black moor. You guys are the best. Along with the wonderful people that i just mentioned, many others have contributed to the "L Fund" to help fund research to find a cure for this dreaded disases that not only took the life of Barbaro, but that of Secretariat, Foolish Pleasure and so many other wonderful horses. Joseph, my son has been able to volunteer at a local horse rescue and through his experience he has expressed interest into becoming a vet and attending the university of penn both for undergraduate and the school of vet medicine. Through this wonderful site, my children (Meagan and Joseph) are being taught many great lessons. 1. Through faith all things are possible. 2. Even though the Friends of Barbaro is a small organization, we have made our voices heard.
