Description of Rescue

Corporate Status; We are working towards our 501c non-profit.

Location; We have moved up the road to a larger and more peaceful home. We are about 25 miles north of Lake Charles, LA in a very small town called Longville. We are around an hour and a half east (bit north) of Beaumont, TX.

Size; We currently have around 300 acres of riding/trail land that we have access to. We have around 40 acres of pasture area and are still building on as funds are available.

Years of Operations; We have had horses for many years and have done a great deal of work with other rescues and are finally at a state/time that we can open our hearts and home to those in need.

Type of Rescue; We are open to any animal in need of a temporary home or sometimes long term. As of yet we are not 501c so all funds generated for the rescue are by donations and our own personal pockets :( We do not mind Rehab horses, OTT Tbreds, thin, starved or anything of the sort.

Fostering procedures; We are open to fosters at any time. We must first do a location evaluation, receive 3 personal references, vet reference, farrier reference, and minimal 2 family member references. All fosters are on a case by case situation. Some may need more help then some homes can provide.

Adoption policies; We have a contract that must be filled out and returned. We dont mind sharing that with anyone as it explains all our policies. Please feel free to contact us about any of our available horses!

Source of Horses; We have been fortunate that most of our animals have been family released but we are intending on visiting the local sale barns (soon as I find out when/where they are held) as well we will be contacting the SPCA and be on file there also. Our local Animal Control knows of us and is supportive. We have also had calls from our vet referring as well.

Operating procedures; Each horse has its own story and own past that we take great pride in trying to find out as much as we can about. We place the horses on available lists upon proof that they are actively gaining weight and temperments are evaluated. We do home checks when within driving distances and also we DO CHECK REFERENCES!!!!

Visitor hours; We are available almost 24/7 but please do contact us prior to a visit and set up a time to ensure we are here. Volunteer information; We are actively looking for volunteers to groom, bathe, feed (when we are on trips to pick up or deliver horses as well as any out of town trips) As well to help evaluate the abilities of each horse.

Education programs; we are currently looking into the girl/boy scouts locally as well as big brother and sister programs to encourage our local youth to be active in the livelyhoods of these wonderful animals. Our youth are our future, with out their knowledge and care in the future we are looking only at more heart ache and pain.
