FAITH - Slaughter Rescue by the Lemonade Girls of Massachusetts
She was euthanized Thursday, November 1st, 2007 at 10:30 AM.
We are very sad to have had to euthanize Faith, the Lemonade Girls' Buckskin...
She had advanced ringbone, and something else going on behind (EPM?), she was in pain, and there was nothing more that could be done. She was loved and pampered in the last weeks, and she was happy. But most of all, she was spared the long trip to Canada or Mexico on sore feet, to be brutally slaughtered.
She will always be remembered...
Faith was one of nine slaughterbound horses pulled from the kill pen. She and another were humanely euthanized. The seven others are doing fabulously, and all but two are in loving new homes. Available for adoption are Molly, 9 year old APHA mare, sound but needs mileage, and Bones; a friendly in your pocket teenager who is rideable.
The Lemonade girls will continue to fundraise to help horses in need.

Don't cry for the horses that life has set free
A million white horses forever to be.
Don't cry for the horses now in Spirit's hand.
As they dance and they prance in a heavenly band.
They were ours as a gift, but never to keep
As they close their eyes forever to sleep.
Their spirits unbound On silver wings they fly
A million white horses against the blue sky.
Look up into heaven, you'll see them above
The horses we lost, the horses we loved.
Manes and tails flowing they gallop through time
They were never yours..... they were never mine.
Don't cry for the horses. They'll be back someday
When our time is gone, they will show us the way.
Do you hear the soft nicker? Close to your ear?
Don't cry for the horses. Love the ones that are here.
