Indy's Story
Indy is a 5yr 15.2 h Tb gelding owned by CANTER Midatlantic. He has been with me for seven months now in training. Indy has an interesting story. When he came off the track he was sent to the farm that CANTER uses to turn out the horses. He lacked coordination and could not walk up hills. They had the vet come to look at him and it was not neurological so they thought he might have pinched a nerve. It was so bad he was having trouble walking and he was almost put down. Allie, director of CANTER MA, decided to just let him hang out in a field for a year. He seemed much better and looking for a job so he was sent to me. He arrived looking like a horse who had lived in a field for year :) No muscle but happy to see people and have somebody fussing over him. We started lunging him and then lightly riding him. Within a month he was doing his first show jumping the baby jumps. He warmed up around the racetrack because the ring was frozen. He went in the indoor like he had been doing it forever. Our steering was a bit wonky but hey he was alive and jumping! He has steadily improved and now looks amazing. He trail rides, has schooled x-country, consisently jumping 2'6"-3ft with amazing form and is happy to work. He very brave and honest but loves to jump so can be a bit forward. Not a hunter anymore but a great jumper. He has the biggest personality around and I really believe he is grateful for the attention. I hope to find him a good home soon.
