There is an Indian Legend.........
When a human dies there is a bridge he must cross to enter into heaven. At the head of that bridge waits every animal he encountered during his lifetime.
The animals decide which humans may cross the bridge...and which are turned away.

Will the animals allow you to cross this bridge?

Policy and Procedure Notes
Wanted to share our policy on humane euthanasia here at Lifelines out in the open, just so we are all on the same page. Most of you already know this stuff, but I want there to be NO confusion. This policy is universal for both the doggies and the horses.
Humane Euthanasia will ONLY be given if attending vet says we have exhausted ALL other options and animal will not recover.
Even then consideration is given to age, general health, and general will to live of each individual animal.
No stone is left unturned and NO animal shall be left suffering.
While injections are given I will personally be present whispering sweet words and giving comfort as the animals passes.
NO animal is put down on a whim, for financial reasons or lack of space, or because they may have possible emotional issues.
Description of Rescue
We strive to provide a safe environment for animals that have endured starvation, neglect, and/or physical abuse. Each animal receives medical attention and daily human contact. We strive to rehabilitate each animal in the hopes that we can locate responsible, caring, and loving homes.
For those animals unable to be adopted they will live out the remainder of their lives here at the farm. We work closely with FAC-NET, NUSTOCK, and of course other rescues in the hopes that we can reach our goals. Our goal is to give each animal the opportunity at a second chance at life, never having to endure starvation, neglect, or abuse.
While I am overjoyed when a horse finds a new home, we simply don't rush the process. We believe in complete rehabilitation here at the farm and strive for each horse to be whole prior to going to their forever homes. Each horse is adopted with our lifetime contract, which sometimes takes just a bit longer for adopters to agree to. Rest assured each horse is going to a "matched" home.
Even before a horse reaches our farm they are already loved. The FOB group has given so much more than just financial help, thay have also given love and hope to these horses. For this we are truly grateful.
Although we rescue ALL breeds of horses I hold a special place in my heart for the arabs. We currently have eleven Arab-X here at the farm.
Rescue is a promise to keep them safe from harm

Feedback from FOBs
I spent 3 wonderful day's @ Lifelines with Tee,to give a bit of info I had only met Tee through emails, and many <wink> phone conversations, I became an Angel for PJ (Panama Jack) my first, but not the last!! upon arriving I immediately felt at home, Tee walked me right out to meet each one of her (33) horses! Amazing!! She shared with me something special about each one, it has taken me a little time to compose myself and to truly express how I feel. I can honestly say Tee knows each and every one of her horses, and spend time with each of them every day. I learned soooooooo much from her, I was very much at ease, as I haven't been around horses since I was in my early teens. I did get to see 33 beautiful happy horses!! I am blessed to have spent time with each of them. Tee I thank you once again, you are a forever friend, my life, and heart have forever been changed. I will be back in June........ I will finish by saying that Tee's heart and soul are all of her horses, and it shows, they are happy just being horses. I spent 3 days @ Lifelines, however I learned about all 33 personalities in the first hour!! .....Forever grateful, Doe
