Update 6232: Lots of pictures of 2011 Kentucky Derby winner Animal Kingdom, more will be posted over the next few weeks!

Update 6231: It’s Derby day!

As a Derby weekend special, each book, purchased from amazon.com this weekend, $5 will be donated to Southern California Thoroughbred Rescue.

Update 6230: A light schedule of graded stakes on offer this weekend as we are only a week away from the Kentucky Derby. Summer is also just around the corner with the openings of Churchill Downs and Belmont Park this weekend: Twinspires.com Weekend Stakes: Where to Watch.

Update 6229: I am now heading back to Kentucky for a four day swing (Thursday – Sunday). The schedule is:

Joseph-Beths (Thursday 7pm), this event includes a talk and question and answer session.

Kentucky Derby Museum (Friday 10 am), April 29 celebrates Barbaro’s birthday!

Old Friends (Saturday 1 pm), we will be supporting Old Friends, $32 / book will be contributed to Old Friends.

the Morris book shop (Sunday 1 pm), this will be an event with several authors.

Hopefully it will be a fun four days, if you are in Kentucky it would be great to see you at one or more of these events. If you know others in Kentucky who might be interested in attending these events, please let them know!

I will then be returning to Pennsylvania for a couple of days before returning to Kentucky for the Derby!
