On June 16, 2006, Mike was doing what he loves most in the world~training a race horse! One minute, friends saw him go by at a full gallop. Thirty minutes later, he was found unconscious & barely breathing. Mike endured an emergency helicopter ride to the University of Maryland Medical Shock Trauma Unit where doctors determined he had suffered a severe brain injury and was placed in ICU in critical condition. After three weeks, Mike was transferred to Kernan Rehabilitation Center, then to Sunbridge Care & Rehabilitation and has now returned home where he continues to recover. He is expected to be in recovery and disabled for at least a year. FOR THOSE WHO HAVE OFFERED ASSISTANCE, A “MIKE REA & FAMILY RECOVERY RELIEF FUND” HAS BEEN ESTABLISHED TO HELP WITH MEDICAL BILLS AND PRIMARY FAMILY NEEDS. YOUR GENEROUS CONTRIBUTIONS ARE VERY MUCH APPRECIATED BY MIKE AND HIS FAMILY!

MIKE’S BARBARO CELEBRATION MESSAGE TO THE FOB’S

“It is an honor and privilege to be here as a part of Barbaro’s celebration. I would like to thank the FOBs for being my friend. And I would like to thank Tim and Alex for including me on their website so that everyone could come together. Thank you all for your prayers and support -most of all for your prayers.” ~Mike Rea April 29th, 2007

    LEAVE MIKE A MESSAGE

Mike, after looking at a picture of how big the crowd was at Delaware Park, I have to ask…Were you nervous to speak to all of us?? You sure didn’t seem like it! You were AWESOME!! ~ WendyinMI

Mike, It is great to see how well you are doing! Keep up the fantastic work. Sometimes it will be hard for you and you may get down, but you are with family and your FOB friends. And you are in our prayers. – Choklitz
